CERN is all set to restart the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) on July 5th but it has also given rise to the rumors that the world is going to end on July 5th after people came across a fake news report about a black hole accident.

Social media users have been left confused after the news about CERN turning on their collider after three years came to light.

This also gave rise to speculations that the collider might give rise to a black hole or a portal to another dimension or world.

The world is not ending on July 5th

Ever since the news about CERN turning on their collider came to light, there have been several rumors surrounding what would happen to the world when that happens.

For now, people have been spreading rumors that the world could come to an end because CERN’s collider has the power to open a black hole that could end life on Earth. There is no doubt that these speculations sound like something straight off a movie, and with that in mind, we are happy to tell you that they hold no truth as well.

Most of the speculations around the world ending or a portal being open started after social media users came across a post which suggested CERN had apologized for ending the world in 2012.

The fake news was quick to grab the attention of the people as it appeared to be a real one. In reality, there have been no statements made and no accidents that took place.

Why did CERN shut down the collider in 2018?

CERN had shut down the collider in 2018 to get some maintenance work done, according to a CERN press release that was published at that time.

Until 2018, CERN had managed to run two experiments and in 2022, the third experiment is going to take place.

On its website, CERN notes that “scientists will study the properties of matter under extreme temperature and density” Andreas Hoecker, spokesperson of CERN’s ATLAS collaboration.. said: “We will measure the strengths of the Higgs boson interactions with matter and force particles to unprecedented precision, and we will further our searches for Higgs boson decays to dark matter particles as well as searches for additional Higgs bosons.
