PC Shipments Suffer Steepest Decline in Years

Demand for personal computers is falling by its fastest pace in nearly a decade, as economic turbulence roils the market after a two-year boom in pandemic-driven purchases.

Shipments in the second quarter dropped by 12.6% from the year-ago period, marking their steepest decline in nine years, according to data from research firm Gartner The company says computer makers dispatched 72 million PCs in April through June, down from 82.4 million the year prior.
